Kevin Smith referred me to this site for bible studies and said I should sign in here to be added to the ROAD list. So here I am, eager to dig deep and learn.
I am sorry to read that Freddie has passed on and offer my sympathies to his family.
Edie, it is refreshing in this day and age to read your comment below and to know that your intent is to continue providing Freddie's lessons as a helper and not as a preacher or minister. I am always amazed how many religions now have women filling the pulpits in spite of the Lords clearly saying this is not his will. My daughter in law calls this "old fashioned religion" But I keep telling her that God's laws are not meant to be fashionable or change with the whims of man. |

That is true, and besides there is sometimes a fine line between 'skirting the proprieties' (tim's contribution) of biblical principles concerning women and ministry and being a helper.

I think I had a brain glitch when I was typing that! It was supposed to read "she could never know"

Edie, it is good to read your posting. "his own notes that I can’t fill out without him." I would have thought you would have heard his sermons often enough to have them memorized but my neighbor is a preacher and his wife tells me that would be true to a point but that the a could never know "which rabbit" he would choose to chase.

We have now said goodbye to Fred,s earthly remains, (never to him) and I want to thank you one and all for your prayers through the rough times as well as now. You’ll never know what you all mean to us. I am sorry that I can’t address each of you individually, but I simply must respond to a couple.
First of all, those of you whom we have come to accept as personal friends and ‘family’, from India to Alaska, we looked forward to hearing from you and you did not disappoint us.
To Francis Creel, your post made us laugh. If there are harmonicas in heaven, then the two Freds can play duets. Of course we always teased Fred that no matter what he said he was playing, it sounded like ‘shall we gather at the river’ (only teasing of course) He was a good singer but not much of a musician, the harmonica being the only instrument he could play. Come to think of it, his father is up there too, so they can have a trio.
To the other Fred Creel, and to Gary Jackson and others, what a wonderful tribute to his life. (Psa 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.)
We know that he only provided the ‘tools’ and others wielded them. (One sows, another waters and God gives the increase) But we are so happy to have had a small part in the salvation of you and maybe others.
I will continue to go through his files and post all that I can decipher. Some are indecipherable, or just his own notes that I can’t fill out without him.
So, thank you all once again, and keep in touch. Edie

Dear Edie and family,
I am so sorry for your personal loss and know that these are difficult times for you as you face life on earth without your loved one.Knowing he is with God is a great comfort but does not begin to fill the place he had in the family.
We are praying for you.

Grandpa (Dumpa)...
I will miss you and think of you every day. It won't be the same when we come to visit.
Grandma...I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it up there for the memorial. I know you'll understand. I hope seeing Mom, Ashley, and B.J. was good for you. Maybe when I get some vacation time we will be able to come up again and visit. I'm hoping at Christmas. I Love You and miss you.

May the Lord Bless the Creel family and watch over them in the days ahead. We offer our prayers and sympathy in this time of sorrow.

Edie, our family has asked me to speak for them at this time and to let you know that we are praying for you. Freddie's lessons have meant a lot to us and have helped to keep us grounded as a family while we are often seperated by miles on the road. He will be remembered and missed by many.

We have been out of the country for several weeks and were sad to read of Freddies passing. May his family find peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.
